There are 4 types of transmission in data transmission. These are the distribution and dissemination of the data to be sent.

Broadcast

BROADCAST – It is the type of broadcast made to everyone in the current area. For example, data sent to the world by satellite in space spreads to the whole world. It is possible to access the same data on the same frequency no matter what geography you are in. To put it simply, creating a bulk message in a WhatsApp message and sending it to all your contacts is a kind of broadcast message.

Multicast

MULTICAST – It is a type of broadcast made to a specific audience within the current space. For example, data is sent by satellite in space based on geographical regions. Radio and TV broadcasts are examples of this. While it is 100.5 Radyo-D in Turkey, there may be 100.5 Virgin Stations in the USA. To put it simply, the message you create a WhatsApp group and send to a certain part of your contacts is a kind of multicast message.

Unicast

UNICAST – It is the type of data transfer made to only one person selected in the field. For example, when you call a person on the phone or send a private message to your friend, these situations can be shown as an example of the unicast message type. It is a type of communication that occurs point to point between two communication sources.

Anycast

ANYCAST – Broadcast to people closest to you within the current area. To make it simpler, for example, when you want to extend your money/card when you take the bus or minibus, you contact the person closest to you and extend your payment method. This situation can be exemplified as a kind of anycast message.
